This article reports on Amundsen's flying boat expedition which was under way when the issue was in print, Grettir Algarsson's abandoned expedition with a dirigible, and the planning of Byrd's and Donald B. Macmillan's race to the pole with two amphibian aircraft. Byrd and Macmillan actually explored Northern Greenland with these aircraft and the expedition lasted from June to October, 1925.
Other articles in this volume are of utmost interest to the historian of early civilian aviation.
