Very rare first edition of this considerably enlarged offprint. A memorandum by the German-born monetary expert and pioneer of bi-metallism. Seyd grew up in Elberfeld, now Wuppertal, Friedrich Engels' hometown, participated in the 1848 Revolution, left for California, produced a report on the American Coinage Bill of 1873 for Congress, and this important work on the English money market and monetary policies.
