RYAN, Cornelius. The Longest Day. June 6, 1944. London, Victor Gollancz, 1960.
8vo. Publisher's red boards, spine lettered in gilt; in the original dust-wrapper, printed both sides (not price-clipped); illustrated colour map endpapers; pp. 256; illustrated throughout after black and white photographs on leaves of plates; very slight bruising to head and tail of spine; sunning to spine of wrapper; a few small chips to top and bottom edge; light even toning to paper-stock, otherwise very good.
First UK edition, very uncommon. One of the most famous works dealing with an episode of WWII. The dust-jacket is very unusual and important to have, as it contains a long assessment and summary of the historical events which are the basis of this book.
