Scarce first edition of anm important standard work on the history, art and archaeology of the Easter Islands. The Routledge couple sailed before the outbreak of WWI to the Easter Island and was forced to remain there and investigated culture and artifacts on the archipelago, the outcome of which is this work, the fist and most important on the subject.
