Very rare first edition. The Eastern Question Association was a pressure group which wanted to convince the British Government to take a tougher position towards the Ottoman Empire by for example orpenly supporting the Bulgarian uprising. Probyn, well-versed in the Ottoman and Armenian press describes the prosecutuin of Armenians and sugggests that they should be ruled as lenient as the peoples of Lebanon, enforced by Western intervention following the masssacres of 1860.
