POGANY, Willy (illustrator). Lilian GASK (author). Folk Tales From Many Lands. London, George G. Harrap & Company. 1910.

8vo. Original olive green cloth gilt, top edges gilt, others untrimmed, pictorial gilt endpapers; pp.vii + 286; with 8 full-page coloured plates and highly attractive decorations throughout the book including running headings, vignettes, historiated initials, and full-page black-and-white line drawings, all in Pogany's bold Art Nouveau style; apart from slight browning to uncut edges, externally very bright and fresh with a tiny knock to top forecorner of upper board and mild dusting to uncut edges of book block, internally generally very fresh and crisp with the occasional light thumb-mark and one short and unremarkable, closed, edge-tear; an increasingly scarce Pogany title.
First edition, presented in the later issue binding, first bound in red cloth gilt, with an onlaid pictorial label. Includes folk tales from Germany, Italy, Arabia, Austria, England, Brittany, Russia, Hungary and other countries from Eastern Europe.
