First edition, one of 500 copies printed. Here the Moscov artist Ivan Pavlov (1872-1951) evokes quiet corners of Old Moscow, looking back at the old city after the ravages of the Second World War. He is renowned for innovative wood-engraving and cutting techniques.
Provenance: This copy was handed over to a Polish delegation in Moscow in 1949 (inscription on verso of title).
