PAKRAVAN, Emineh. Vieux Teheran. Tehran, [printers of la Banque Melli-e Iran for the author], 1962.
Small 4to. Original boards with illustrated dust-wrapper, illustrated endpapers, both after gouaches by Brotons; pp. 49, , two-tone plates after old illustrations and photographs, two folding city maps in red and black (the city in 1858 and 1890); apart from very light marginal wear to wrappers a very good copy of a rare book.
First edition of a stunningly beautiful book production. Pakravan was a member of a family of high-ranking Iranian officials (who all spoke French) and author of historical novels and studies. The work expands on a pamphlet published in 1951 by the Institut Franco-iranien, which was sold out pretty quickly.
