Oblong 4to. Original cord-bound printed and patterned wrappers, title, colour-printed city map and 31 colour-printed photographic plates, each with a leaf of explanatory text in Japanese and English; apart from light browning to text in places, remarkably well preserved.
Nikko is the heritage centre of Japanese Shogun culture, now a UNESCO World Heritage site. The construction of the the Nikko Line as part of the Tobu railway in 1929 opened the place up for tourism, Japanese and Western, and furthered the developmet of Nikko as a mountain resort.
