MOORE, Marianne. Collected Poems. New York: The Macmillan Company. 1951.
8vo. Original cloth and dustwrapper; pp. 180; wrapper a little marked with chips to edges, spotting to endpapers and edges, otherwise very good. Provenance: ffep inscribed by Marianne Moore: "For Mr. Douglas Glass, heroic master of the tripod and of the mechanism upon it, from: Marianne Moore, November 17 1951, uncorrected Mr. Glass, N.B. errata". Douglas Glass (1901-78) was a London-based photographer famous for his series of portraits in The Sunday Times. Moore's comment about 'errata' is a knowing reference to her inveterate inability to keep from revising her work.
First edition of this collection, which includes the contents of her first three volumes with a few exclusions made by Moore herself, and nine previously uncollected works.
