MONTGOMERY, Edward Hugh. Morchilla & Ptarmagon. [South Hackney, London, Morchilla Press,~i~ 2003].
Oblong 4to. Original grey cloth with laid on colour illustration on front cover, lettered in silver, silver endpapers, pp. [xii], 99, highly illustrated after colour photos throughout; very good indeed.
Very rare first edition, number 112 of a total print-run of 500, signed by both the author and the mountaineer Sundeep Dhillon. This book is about Dhillon's climbs in the Argentinian Andes and the Himalayas. 'In 1996, during the worst ever storms on Everest, Sundeep was forced to turn back some 400 metres below the summit, and had to bury a fellow climber on the way down. Undeterred he returned two years later and successfully broke a world record to become the youngest person in the world to climb the Seven Summits – the highest mountain on each continent. To date, this has only been completed by around 67 people, and Sundeep held the record for 4 years' (University of Oxford St Edmund Hall, online). - Loosely inserted a CD with music composed by Edmund Butt with the same title as the book and a certificate of authenticity card signed by the author, who is a mountaineer himself.
