MILLIGAN, Spike. White Hand Washing in a Stream. Leicester: Toni Savage, 1986.
Single broadsheet, (14.5cm x 21cm approx.); printed on one side with text in black and illustration by Silé Milligan in blue; ever-so-slightly creased; near fine.
Phoenix Broadsheet 270. Signed, unusually, by Spike Milligan, Silé Milligan, and Toni Savage. Unusual thus.
One of only a handful written by Spike Milligan. The first of these poems appeared in 1971 and the ran through to the early 1990s, after which more than 400 had been produced. It is unknown how many were issued, although the runs were limited and up to 300 copies of the early numbers may have been distributed, with many fewer in the later years.
