An extremely rare publication celebrating the Greek shipping industry, depicting Piraeus and other ports around the Mediterranean, which have been Greek trading posts for the last 2500 years. Apart from the eponymous port depicted on some 15 plates there are views of Kerkyra, Patras, Galaxidi, Crete, Thessaloniki, Sinope, the Black Sea, La Valetta, Venice, Gibraltar, Tangiers etc, in short all the relevant places connected by Greek trade.
We assume the rarity of this item is due to this being a private publication for people involved in the shipping industry, with very few copies deposited at Greek libraries.
