LANG, Andrew (author). H.J. FORD (illustrator). The Grey Fairy Book. London, Longmans, Green, And Co. 1900.

8vo. Original grey pictorial cloth blocked in gilt with a design of a fairy riding on the back of an owl, spine lettered gilt, all edges gilt; pp. [xii] + 387; illustrated throughout after engravings by Ford; an unusually attractive copy of a scarce Lang title, externally lightly marked and rubbed with some dulling to gilt, internally very good and sound with two neat previous ownership inscriptions to prelims, toning and foxing to half-title and the following two prelim pages, and occasional spotting and light marking internally, but still uncommonly good, sound, and crisp.
First edition. This is the sixth title in Lang's coloured fairy book series and contains thirty-five stories, mainly from oral traditions, including French, German and Italian collections.
