8vo.; publisher's dark blue pictorial cloth gilt, gilt vignette to upper cover and spine, matt black endpapers, all edges gilt; pp. [viii] + 212; with illustrations in monochrome throughout; a pleasing copy of an increasingly scarce book with some overall rubbing, uniform darkening to spine, a couple of small splash marks to upper board, small wear and one bruise to forecorners, and weakening to cloth at spine ends with a couple of tiny nicks; internally generally unusually clean with fresh inner hinges and endpapers and only very light, and very intermittent, foxing, with early owner's name in ink to title-page.
