Preface: "Though much has been written on the birds of Trinidad, nearly all publications are mainly faunal lists on the collected birds, mostly without giving the measurements of the individual specimens ... We thought it useful not only to give a discussion of the collected birds, but to add short descriptions of all birds known to occur on these islands ... At the time being 344 species are known to occur on Trinidad ... Tobago, which is still far less satisfactorily known, now has a total of 144 species." This is no. 37 of the series, "Zoologische Verhandelingen" series, produced by the Natural History Museum in Leiden.
