JOB (pseud.) [Jacques Marie Gaston Onfroy de BREVILLE] (illustrator). Jeanne SAMARY (author). Gourmandises de Charlotte. Paris; Librairie Hachette et Cie. 1890.

Small folio. Original ochre cloth-backed glazed pictorial green boards, pale green endpapers, yellow edges; pp. [32]; with illustrations and decorations throughout in stylish lithographed colour, to every page, by Job; externally a very good clean copy with some soiling to spine, 2 splits to joints at head (15mm) and a little nicking to cloth at tail; internally sound with pale and rather diffuse foxing throughout the book and with some toning to stock; a scarce Job title.
First edition. Interestingly the author Jeanne Samary (1857-1890) was a French actress who posed as a model for the French impressionist artist Renoir. She wrote this title for the amusement of her own children.
