Original cream cloth with Arabesque ornamentation in gilt, blue and turquoise, spine lettered in gilt, patterned endpapers, top edge gilt; pp. xii, 206; vi, 312, photogravure plates by Richard H. Lawrence and others with tissue guards, all pages with in lithographic borders in gold and red of varying designs, ornamental head- and tail-pieces; very light marking to cloth, spines a bit darkened; otherwise a very clean and fresh copy of a lavishly produced book.
Very rare first "Darro" edition. First published in 1832, this is probably the most beautiful 19th-century edition of this classic on the architectural Arabic masterpiece in Granada.
