First edition, very rare. One of the journalists, Anthony Nutting, a politician and diplomat, was principal advisor to Sam Spiegel during the production of the film about the life of Lawrence of Arabia and had written a book about TEL. Abd al-Karim Qasim Muhammad Bakr al-Fadhli al-Zubaidi had been the leader of the overthrow of the monarchy in 1958, and the new regime quickly descended into autocracy. Qasim was overthrown by the Ba'athist coup of 8 February 1963 and executed, to be folowed by Saddam Hussein's Baa'thist regime.
