The Anchor Line was a Scottish merchant shipping company based in Glasgow. The company was founded in 1855 and dissolved in 1980. RMS Transylvania was launched in 1925. She was converted into an armed merchant cruiser during World War II.
In 1940 she was torpedoed and sunk by German U Boat (U-56).
Frederick Hoertz was an American artist well known for his marine paintings. He designed labels for several shipping companies including Cunard.
