3 A4 sheets of original costume designs by Kathleen Hale for a theatrical production of Orlando's Camping Holiday with copious marginal autograph notes in Hale's hand also in pencil including 8 designs painted, or highlighted, in watercolour,, including images of Orlando, a magnificent rooster, and Grace's bonnet and apron, with one old vertical crease and a little light dusting; now preserved in a fine custom-made navy blue cloth-covered flapcase with leather lettering label to cover, and ties.
Kathleen Hale worked as a designer, alongside Rita Tayler, on a theatrical production of Orlando - A Camping Holiday. The play was adapted from her book by William Corlett and performed by The Unicorn Company at the Unicorn Arts Theatre, Great Newport Street, London WC2, in the summer of 1976, supported by the Arts Council of Great Britain. Provenance: direct from a seamstress working on the production.
