Very rare first editionof one of the most authoritative accounts of the events leading to the revolution of 1828 in South America, published anonymously. Sabin judged 'one of the most intelligent and insstructive works which has yet been written upon the political affairs of the South American republics. Gran Colombia (1819-1831) included present-day Colombia, Ecuador, Panama and Venezuela, and parts of northern Peru and northwestern Brazil.
