Against this background, Ginsberg purchased East Hill Farm, a seventy-acre rural retreat near Cherry Valley, New York State, in 1968.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe verso of the first blank page in this intriguing copy of The Gates of Wrath: Rhymed Poems 1948–1952 bears the inscription \u003cstrong\u003e‘Allen Ginsberg | his copy | Rc’d 8 September 1973’\u003c\/strong\u003e, above which he has added – probably at a later date – ‘To Tom’.
