GAY, John. Trivia: or, the art of walking the streets of London. London: Daniel O'Connor, 1922.
4to., original cream cloth with gilt decoration and lettering to upper board and spine; upper edge gilt, else uncut; decorative endpapers, the first showing a map of the City; pp. [vi], vii-xxiv, [ii], 3-90, [ii], facsimile of title page of first edition, sixteen plates on handmade paper; very few finger marks; ffep browned, rear endpaper lightly offset, as is common, else a superior copy, with none of the usual darkening to the cloth.
First edition thus.
Gay's 1716 poem on the sights of London is here complemented by picturesque plates and reprints by Hogarth. A very pleasing souvenir of the city.
