[EAST GERMAN COMMUNIST PROPAGANDA] [Set of 50 individual propaganda photographs from post-war German Democratic Republic].  Circa 1960s.

A set of 50 individual black-and-white photographic postcards, each 145 x 207mm; with extenseive explanatory printed text on the reverse of each translated into five languages (German, Russian, English, French and Spanish); apparently rare.

A collection of hard-hitting and, in one case shocking, propaganda cards issued by the socialist workers's state of the GDR, depicting a series of armed provocations at sentry posts at the state border of the German Democratic Republic; images of propaganda apparently dropped by Western Allies over the state; images of claimed provocations by West German police; images of visits by foreign (Syrian and Russian) delegations to the German Democratic Republic; images of the liberation of Berlin from fascism by the Soviet Army in 1945; an image of the illegal transfer of individuals to West Berlin; an image of a dead East German sentry guard, killed in 1962 by West German police, etc.
