DIENES, Andre de. Sun-Warmed Nudes. Los Angeles: Elysium, Inc., 1965.

4to. Original pictorial paper boards; in the pictorial dust-wrapper (not price-clipped); unpaginated; highly illustrated throughout, with numerous photographs in black and white and some leaves of plates in colour; very slight bumping to extremities of boards; light unobtrusive marks to spinel light rubbing to extremities of wrapper; light sunning to spine; small 13mm tear to top edge of wrapper; light offsetting to endpapers, otherwise bright and clean throughout; a very good copy.
First edition, first printing, April 1965. With an introduction by Ed Lange, and a foreword by Andre de Dienes. Dienes, a Hungarian photographer, produced crisp, beautifully composed and brilliantly exposed pictures, which were published in books and magazines globally. This volume 'might be considered a cross section of that tremendous variety of work' (front flap). This publication is the first of art photography to feature 'completely unretouched studies of the female nude' (ibid.) and is exemplary of de Dienes's talent as a photographer.
