With an attractive scene of craftsmen at work on different tasks, this plate also depicts some of the key tools of the 18th-century quarry plasterer. An article by Jacques-François Blondel is also included. The main writer on architecture and related subjects in the first five volumes, this is a good example of his understanding of the crafts and craftsmen.
