Patinated cast metal (180 x 145 mm) on wooden shield (330 x 240 mm), relief up to 20 mm high, original ring for hanging on verso; centre of portrait with small area of abrasure.
This is the iconic depiction of the elderly master chosen by the Bank of England to adorn the 10 Pound notes which where legal tender from 1992 to 2003.
