DELHI DURBAR CORONATION MEDAL. Issued to the Members of the Imperial Establishment to commemorate the Coronation of King George V. [London, Royal Mint], 1911.
925 Sterling silver, diameter 37 mm, with suspension ring and ribbon bar, housed in the rarely seen cardboard box with printed lid and manuscript issue number 9199 and two names in ink on the bottom of box; nicely patinated; box with wear and old transparent tape repairs.
The rounded and not flattened suspension ring apparently indicates that this specimen is one of the London, and not Delhi, strikings. - A good companion piece to Mortimer Menpes' splendid A. & C. Black book on the Durbar.
