DE HAENEN, F. (illustrator). G. DOBSON (described by). St. Petersburg. London; Adam & Charles Black, 1910.

Large 8vo., publisher's lemon yellow cloth handsomely panelled and decorated in black to spine and upper cover, lettered gilt, plain edges; pp. xii + 167, including index; with 32 plates in colour and monochrome and a folding sketch-map of the city, in colours, tipped-in at the rear; externally near fine with only a little shadowing to lower joint, with edges of book block lightly dusted and speckled, internally very clean and crisp with previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown and mild foxing to endleaves.
First edition. Dobson, for many years correspondent for The Times in St. Petersburg, here provides an interesting account of the former Russian capital, seven years prior to the Revolution.
