Original red cloth lettered in black to spine, in pictorial dustwrapper; pp. [iv], -250 + [ii]; with the iconic line drawings by Henry; a very good copy with faint shadowing to spine through dustwrapper, internally very clean with faint spotting to free endpapers and a neat contemporary ink inscription to front free endpaper, dated 1941, protected by an attractive example of the period dustwrapper (priced 3/- to upper panel) with overall dusting and some light scuffing; chipping to spine ends, corners, and edges; narrow loss to upper joint fold at lower edge (maximum 22 x 8mm), another couple of short closed edge tears (10mm) and a tiny split to fore-edge fold of upper panel.
Early edition, stamped "Twenty-fourth impression" to upper panel. First published in 1924. A collection of fourteen individual stories including "William Enters Poliitcs" and "Kidnappers".
