[CIVIL WAR TRACT]. BEWICK, Thomas (illustrator). The Scots Martch From Barwick to Newcastle. Newcastle: Printed by T. & J. Hodgson, Union Street, for Emerson Charnley. 1827.
8vo. Original plain green wrappers; pp. viii + 8; woodcut on the title-page by Thomas Bewick; slight foxing spots, but an excellent copy, preserved in a custom made cloth-covered flapcase with a leather label.
One of a number of tracts reprinted by the Newcastle Typographical Society, which was formed in 1817. The present tract, originally printed in 1644, is one of several of these reprints with a woodcut by Thomas Bewick. Like the other pamphlets in this series this one was probably limited to about 200 copies, and was edited by J.T. Brocket, for whom the woodcut on the title-page was originally engraved as a bookplate.
