BYRON, Lord. Korsarz, Niebo i Zemia. Leipzig, Breitkopf and Haertel, 1841.

12mo. Contemporary calf-backed cloth-covered boards, spine ornamented and lettered in gilt; pp. [iv], 112, [2], [113]-201, [3]; binding only a little rubbed, internally a few light brown spots, one corner cut away.
Second Polish edition, after the Paris, 1835 one, published as volume III of Odiniec' translations, published abroad, which proves how virulent Byron's poetry was still considered by the authorities ruling Poland. Antoni Edward Odyniec (1804-1885) was a Romantic poet and translator, who lived for some time in Dresden. - COPAC records two copies in Britain, in the National Library of Scotland and the British Library, who are the only institution in Britain to hold a copy of the first Polish edition.
