A superb copy of the first edition of this highly illustrated introduction of the country to the tourist, with practical hints on holidaying in Egypt, notes on culture and society, alongside a desription of the monuments. The author lived in Egypt and is known as 'the great English philocopt'. In 1897 she had published the very rare two-volume Story of the Church of Egypt.
