It was a multi-disciplinary conference of scientists, artists and innovators who gathered to discuss the future of the ecology. The publication is most notable for the contribution by William Burroughs, a typically vivid speech on the four horsemen of the apocalypse in which he envisions that the only possible future for humanity is in space, which was later published as a standalone piece.
