This is the first book to use Beardsley’s title-page design which was reproduced in the same publisher’s editions of Frances Burney’s \u003ci\u003eCecilia\u003c\/i\u003e (1893) and Madame de Stael’s \u003ci\u003eCorinne\u003c\/i\u003e (1894).\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBeardsley was likely also responsible for the spine design, but his artistic input into this attractive edition of Burney’s 1778 novel went no further.
