BULU, Joel [or: Joeli BULU, Siaoeli PULU]. Joel Bulu: The Autobiography of a Native Minister in the South Seas. Translated by a Missionary. Second Edition. London, T. Woolmer, 1884.

This is a scarce autobiography of a native inhabitant of Tonga, who after his conversion to Christianity moved to Fiji. This is a lively account of life on the Pacific Islands, with storms, fires, wars and floods, and miraculous escapes. The text was translated by Lorimer Fison and edited by George Stringer Rowe in 1871.
