Very rare sole edition of this alphabet book with political caricatures relating to the 'Turkish question' and the earlier stages of the Crimean War. Robert Barnabas Brough (1828-1860) was a mid-Victorian playwright, journalist, illustrator and and poet.
COPC locates copies in the BL, and in Oxford and Cambridge; the only copy to have appeared on the market was a coloured copy, sold at auction in 1989 for £660.
