BRAUNIG, Werner Rummelplatz. (The German List) Seagull Books, 2016,
8vo., pp. 528. Black publisher's boards with title in gilt to spine. Extremities ever-so-slightly rubbed, otherwise a fine, clean copy in fine dust wrapper.
This novel was written to demonstrate the working lives within an East German mine, and to thereby strengthen the communist party campaign. Widely criticised in East Germany, this English translation by Samuel P. Willcocks was first published in 2014.
A very fine, if later copy of what is widely considered to be one of the best novels of post-war Germany.
