This is the third volume in the six-volume series of children's novels about the manor house, Green Knowe (based on Boston's own home in Huntingdonshire) and the people who lived there. The saga begins with The Children of Green Knowe in 1954 and ends, in 1976, with The Stones of Green Knowe.
