Original crimson cloth panelled in black to upper board, lettered and decorated in gilt, in pictorial dustwrapper with onlaid plate to upper panel; pp. [vi], 7-319 + [i]; with 16 fine coloured plates mounted-at-large and other drawings in line; externally fine with only small bruising to head of spine and dusting and speckling to edges of book block, internally sporadically foxed with some light brown marginal marks (largest 1.5cm) and 2 text leaves with unobtrusive, but longish, corner crease; with a long contemporary, but neat, inscription to front pastedown endpaper, dated Christmas 1931; all mounted plates in fine condition; the dustwrapper (priced 15/- to spine) in uncommonly good condition with just slight scratching to pictorial label; the spine with some fading, an unobtrusive closed lateral tear (4cm) now strengthened to the reverse with archival tissue, a vertical crease, and tiny fraying to head and heel.
