Original rose pink cloth with inlaid 2 black panels to spine lettered and decorated in gilt, top edges stained blue, double-page pictorial endpapers, in pictorial dustwrapper with wrap-around design; pp. [viii], 9-264; with 8 full-page plates in colour, and a host of line drawings throughout, by Hughes; a near fine, uninscribed copy in a very attractive, unclipped dustwrapper (25s) with 2 small surface scuffs to joints at head of spine (maximum 8mm), minute nicking to spine ends, 3 short closed edge tears (20, 19 and 5mm), one with associated creasing, and all neatly repaired to the reverse with archival tissue, and a short corner crease to front flap.
