The Great Northern Hotel in Bundoran and Golf course were founded in 1894. The Golf course is one of the oldest in Ireland.
The Great Northern Railway Company bought The Mourne Hotel in Rostrevor (opened 1876) and renamed it the Great Northern Railway Hotel.
