Collection: St Andrew's Day 2024
“Whaur’s yer Wullie Shakespeare noo?”
As a proud Scot, our Chairman is always happy to remind us of the sometimes overlooked talents of his fellow countrymen. Similarly, when presented with any famous vista, he is likely to compare it, unfavourably, with the view of The Cuillins from Elgol on the Isle of Skye – at least on a clear day. His is not a parochial view, but a natural pride in the undoubted attributes and achievements of the Scots on the global stage. This being the feast day of St Andrew, a man always depicted holding a book, we are delighted to celebrate with a handful of titles which exemplify the breadth and diversity of the nation’s cultural contribution as well as its landscape and history; from the universality and romance of Burns and the Ettrick Shepherd to the darkness and depravity of Irvine Welsh, all life is on show here.
