"With the cry of Blake/ and the silent thought of Wordsworth"

In the summer of 1967, the prolific American Beat poet Allen Ginsberg composed this poem, "Wales- A Visitation" whilst under the influence of LSD during his travels in the Black Mountains with the publisher Tom Maschler, with whom he was staying. The poem harbours many Romantic influences, what with Ginsberg describing the very lambs bleating out William Blake's visions.
