HIME, Maurice C. On the Superiority, as Moral and Spiritual Beings, of Women to Men… Charles J. Thynne. 1923.
Small 8vo. Original red cloth, gilt lettering to front; pp. 59 + [1. ads.]; a little foxing to edges, near fine.
Sole edition of this remarkable treatise by the sometime headmaster of Foyle College, Derry, who had previously published a book on Schoolboys' Special Immorality. This book leans away from such grubby considerations and concentrates on women's conduct and mental strength, which are 'especially conducive to the leading of a good life'. He bases his survey on the middle-classes in Ireland and on his experience of his own mother, as the autobiographical supplement makes clear.
OCLC, 2 copies in BL and Kansas; COPAC records 1 further at LSE.
