An original pen-and-ink illustration on maize-coloured paper laid down by the illustrator on artist's board depicting the head and shoulders of a young girl, signed in ink, created to illustrate Beside A Norman Tower by Mazo de la Roche (Macmillan 1934), unmounted, image size 100 x 90mm, with notes in Watson's hand to margin in pencil, reproduced full-page as the frontispiece of the book with a scattered light brown stain to the background which could be obscured by clever mounting.
