Original red cloth lettered in black to spine, in pictorial dustwrapper; pp. [vi], [11-250 + [ii]; with the iconic line drawings by Henry; a very good copy with slight fading to spine and rubbing to head and heel, internally near fine, and uninscribed, with minimal offset-browning to free endpapers, protected by an attractive example of the period dustwrapper (priced 2/6 to upper panel) with fading and dust-soiling to spine, nicking to head and corners, small chipping to tail with an associated short and slightly open tear (14mm), a couple of edge nicks, and one other minor closed edge tear (14mm).
Early edition, stamped "Fifth Impression" to upper panel. First published four years earlier, in 1931. A collection of ten individual stories including "William and the Snowman" and "William and the Spy".
