BOND, Michael (author). Peggy FORTNUM (illustrator). A Bear Called Paddington. London; Collins. 1967.
8vo. Original pinkish-red linson boards lettered in gilt to spine, in pictorial dustwrapper; pp. [vi], 7-128; with line illustrations throughout by Peggy Fortnum; both externally and internally near fine with very pale and light foxing to endpapers but otherwise fresh, in a very attractive, unclipped dustwrapper (10s 6d) with dust-soiling and light rubbing, pale speckling to upper panel and a very unobtrusive closed tear to top edge of the same (3cm) now expertly repaired to the reverse with archival tissue tape.
First edition, seventh impression of Bond's modern children's class; first published in 1958. A scarce valuable book in first impression, all early impressions in nice condition in dustwrapper are elusive.
