NELSON MANDELA, DESMOND TUTU , and F. W. DE KLERK Three signed colour photographs in one mount, each with engraved metal name plate underneath. Probably South Africa, 1999.
The mount measuring 44 by 64 cm; the central photo measuring 172 by 120 mm, the other two 139 by 100 mm; only the De Klerk photo with small indenture; very evocatively mounted at the time and well-preserved.
The three most important movers and shakers of the peaceful transition of Apartheid South Africa into the 'Rainbow Nation'. Frederik Willem de Klerk and Mandela shared the Nobel Piece Prize jointly in 1993. Archbishop Desmond Tutu had been awarded the same prize in 1984. - A significant memento of one of the great achievements through adveristy and with persistence and a clear vision of the 20th century.
